EDWIN G. ANDERSON III

PROFILE

Ed Anderson’s 40+ years of investment experience are founded on a life-long passion for creative real estate and affordable housing solutions. As Connexion Asset Group’s Founder and CEO, he is actively involved in the acquisition of distressed and underperforming properties, defaulted debt instruments, and partnership interests, as well as in structuring transactions involving international joint ventures and entity recapitalizations. Alongside his equity and debt partners, Ed has acquired, managed, financed, recapitalized, or repositioned more than $1B in real estate investment properties during his career. In support of his commitment to affordable housing, Ed founded Sharing Connexion in 2015. For highlights of Ed’s investment experience, please visit our Transaction History timeline.

BACKGROUND

Ed holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. He has co-authored white papers on the commercial mortgage market with the University of Denver’s Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management. He is the past chair of the Salvation Army’s real estate committee and a member of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the University of Denver’s Burns Society for Real Estate and Construction Management.

Ed began his career as a CPA, working first for the Big Four and then founding his own practice. But he’d always had a passion for real estate, having attempted his first investment (a 4-plex he didn’t get) at the age of 19. He sold his accounting practice in 1989 to dedicate himself to investing in real estate. An initial focus on Metro Denver multifamily and affordable housing quickly expanded to include office, mixed use, industrial, and land development both nationally and internationally. Over the years, he has amassed an impressive portfolio of real estate properties inclusive of landmark properties, office, multifamily, mixed use, industrial, hotels, resorts, single-family homes, and land development.

MORE ABOUT ED

Ed is a third-generation Denver native. Having spent 25 years in Breckenridge earlier in his career, it’s no surprise he loves to ski. But he also golfs, plays tennis, and cycles (he has completed Colorado’s famed 120-mile Triple Bypass three times). Ed also devotes significant time to his efforts with Sharing Connexion, getting more of his fellow real estate professionals onboard with giving back to their communities by supporting a sustainable vision for affordable housing.
